In an effort to honor the memory of those men, women and children who have died through war around the world, we created pastel poppies.
This artwork was inspired by the work of artist Georgia O'Keefe. Each student was given one quadrant of an original O'Keefe poppy. Working with the students with the three remaining quadrants, they decided on common colours, shading, sizing, background, etc., so that when they put their individual creations together they ended up with a whole poppy. In that sense, it was a truly community-inspired art activity. Have a look below at some of the results.
